365 Project

~Journal~

January 3, 2015
I’ve been doing the 365 Project now for about two and a half weeks or so and while it’s going fine (still haven’t run out of things to photograph), I feel like it needs a little more “direction”. It’s pretty much just random at the moment.

I was thinking earlier this week about how there is so much violence and general ugliness in the world right now. I can’t get online without seeing multiple reminders of it.

I want this project to be a place of beauty. A place of peace. I find that it’s easy for me to let the negative emotions take hold of me, and I’d love to push those aside and let the beautiful things of life fill me instead.

And that’s my goal. Find something beautiful every day, and photograph it! (and share it here!).

365 Project – December 17, 2014 to December 17, 2015
Why these dates? Well, I dunno. It’s my birthday for one. And I’ve always wanted to do an actual 365 Project, and this day seemed like a good day to start. So… if you’re following along and wondering why my days are slightly ahead of the more traditional (as in: start on January 1st), this is why.

~~Below is my first attempt at a 365 Project in 2013~~
{I didn’t get very far!}

December 2013 (Days 31-61)

~~~~~Thoughts so far: End of November
So far so good. A couple things I’ve learned:
  1. Take pictures early in the day, that way you aren’t scrambling at the end for something to post
  2. Posting every day is very time consuming. Especially if you want to post on other things. At least for me it is.
Upcoming adjustment to the project, at least for the month of December, post a little less often in one bigger post.
My only concern with that, is sometimes I’ve been at the end of the day, realized I didn’t post anything, and THEN realize I didn’t actually take a picture… So… posting everyday has been a great motivator. Hopefully we won’t loose that in the upcoming busyness that is December and all associated holidays.
November 2013
The first one listed is from the 1st and the last is from the 30th. Don’t know why they went in that way, but it’s how it happened.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on what I've just posted. I do read and truly appreciate all comments. They make me smile!
