Siblings {November & December}

The Five.
{Short sweet *nearly* photo only post for you this evening}

1 ~ From that day in November when the time changed and all my kids got up around 5:00 AM

2 ~ Leaf Pile

3 ~ More leaf piles. I guess it must have been warm…

4 ~ Oh, yes, and there was this gem from that time we I decided the playground would be great fun, even though it was nearly sundown and windy and just plain cold.

5 ~ Lights!!! This was the only picture of the bunch where in no one’s head was captured mid-turn… however, I did lose a few in the “looking at the camera” department 😉

6 ~ Ok. Not of the kids, but inspired by them.
{I found a painting app on my phone and doodled this. Now, I changed phones and no longer have this app… good recommendations for (preferably) free watercolor apps on the google play store?}

The Me and Mine Project

Siblings {October}

I made the effort in the last few weeks, and it paid off!

Six (6) photos of The Siblings for you folks {or as we tell the kids when trying to get them to cooperate “look at the camera so we can send this to Grandmama” (who lives two days drive from us)}.

Top to Bottom

~ Kids all leaving {at the same time}. What I especially love about this photo is Kat has Nicholas! She then proceeded to carry him out to the car, which left my hands totally free for locking up. Big kids guys! They can do big things for mamas! 🙂

~ Attempted line up shot. Z was not interested. And once he saw the camera come out he immediately tried to get down to see the picture.

~ All the boys in the wagon…

~ Panned shot of the doctor’s office waiting room, where I managed all five for a few minutes before my mom came for back up.

~ Flying kites with Grandma and Papa. (All five are there… Promise.)

~ At the beach house.

Flash back to last summer at the same beach house (different part of the porch).

Back to School Photos // Siblings {September}

%22school%22-siblings-pictures-2 %22school%22-siblings-pictures

Every year I like to take “Back to School”/”First Day of School” photos of the kids. I just have a few requirements…

one….

That they be their normal everyday selves.
(which usually means… they’re dirty)

two…

They have to line up along the back wall of the house.

From years past…

Do these kids look like they could sit in a classroom?!?
Do these kids look like they could sit in a classroom?!?

2013- 2014

{BTW, we didn’t really even attempt any sit-down bookwork until last year, so all the previous years were just for fun}

I also like to take individual photos of the kids

I’ve had plans now to write up a little of what we’re doing for school, but, I’ve been pulling the “lazy summer” thing for this here blog (yes, I know it’s September and the weather is barely qualifying as summer anymore). Anyway, perhaps I’ll jot down some thoughts in the next week.

Siblings {August}

Siblings Aug-2 Siblings Aug

Pretty much just the *attempted* siblings photos this month. (One of these months, I’ll actually post ALL the outtakes I have from one single photo event… oh my goodness, the faces they can come up with. 🙂 )

The bottom one was from last week. I tried to snap it (on the front porch) because last week was the five year anniversary of buying and living in this house, and… wow… so much has changed from when we first moved, taken (on this very day actually, 16th of August, 2011):

Plus three siblings and a whole lot of memories. ❤

Siblings {July}

Siblings July-2

My favorite of them all this past month 🙂

Siblings July-3

I had three unwilling participants for this here photo… I’ll let you guess which ones 🙂

Siblings July-5

Tried to capture them using the wide angle lens of my Olloclip. I suppose technically speaking I did get them all in, but the distortion is bad. But here they were all watching a much begged for TV show. {It’s a rare treat when mama lets them watch something mid-day}

Siblings July

I guess most of my photos are a lot of “big kids doing something – plop the baby in the frame”

Siblings July-4

This was on Nicholas’s 4-month birthday. I forget now what Zachary’s fuss was, but clearly he wanted to be doing something else.

Since I’m not sure when I’ll be back to write a “how are things going” update, I’ll just put it here.

When I wrote my last update with Five Kids, I basically said that I’m still figuring it out. And now, two months later… I’m still working on it. I mean, the crazy has definitely settled down. But this last month has been hard. Mostly because of Zachary. I guess he’s just at a hard age (or something). He wants to be one of the big kids – which he’s definitely not. He has so. much. energy – which I can’t always keep up with. And one of his favorite past-times/hobbies is escaping down the driveway, so I have to know exactly where he is literally every second of the day – and that’s not an exaggeration. So I guess my mental energy has just been very depleted lately.

But, overall, I mean, other than chasing Z. things are going well. We’re just hanging out basically at home. I’m too nervous to take all the kids even to the park on my own yet. We’ll get there. One day.
